I really wanted to go to Cornell, and I think my essays and app showed it. I went there for a summer program, and got an A in it. My commonapp essay was about something that really happened to me, and really changed me. It wasnt a tragedy by any means, but it was real and showed me something valuable. I also think that I showed them that I knew what I wanted to do. I wrote one of my essays about how I wanted to be a vet, and that was obviously true because I volunteered at an animal clinic for 2 years. There were obviously people better than me, but I think they appreciated that my app was real and obviously not exaggerated.
